Scope:
Jillian is a writer and editor with 13 years of experience in travel and culture media. She excels in writing editorial stories, launching ambitious content projects, and helping businesses and individuals find their voices. In addition to her freelance career, she was the former lead Editor of Time Out New York and the former Deputy Editorial Director of Culture Trip.
Jillian was ready to take her freelance career to the next level, seeking a rebrand and new website that reflected her current values and expertise rather than those from five years ago. With a current brand presence that was feminine and fun, we created a brand identity with retro influences and a strong color palette that speaks to her target audience while giving them a feel for Jillian's personality. Finding the balance between playful and mature was the driving force of each stage of the project, from brand stickers to the primary logo variations.
For the website design, we focused on creating an easy-to-navigate platform on Squarespace that showcased Jillian's self-written copy and continued the playful brand essence. To address Jillian's vast and diverse portfolio, we incorporated a customized third-party plugin, creating a filterable, searchable portfolio with pagination, significantly increasing the usability of her portfolio page and allowing visitors to better digest all of her work.
