An interactive and typography focused website for an eclectic residential construction company in NYC.

Erica reached out because she wanted to overhaul her website and find a better way for potential clients to get to know her, her work, and the detailed care that she dedicates to each project. Her previous website wasn’t highlighting her work or showcasing why her unique approach and solution(s) to her projects was the better solution in her industry and area.

A core belief of our design philosophy here at Standard Operations is that every website visitor should not just see your portfolio work on your “portfolio” page. Attention spans are short on the internet, and we want to make every second count by making sure your best foot is put forward on every page.

For this project, that was the guiding principle of each page designed and developed. Special attention was paid to make sure that her portfolio was easy to navigate and view all throughout the site, while giving visitors insight into what a typical timeline of a project with her would look like.

With fun little custom coded details throughout, the site was super fun to bring to life. First we expanded Squarespace's banner slideshow to have a bit more finesse and style, then we implemented a horizontal timeline to showcase the process of working with Erica in easy to digest steps.

On the portfolio page, we utilized Javascript for a sick hover effect to showcase her work, as well as a sneaky little click action in the website footer for a surprise.
